# Terms of Service

## 1\. Agreement to Terms

By using this website or booking work with Backwater Valve Installation Toronto, you agree to these Terms of Service and to all applicable laws of Ontario and Canada. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

## 2\. Services

Backwater Valve Installation Toronto provides backwater valve and related plumbing services in Toronto and the GTA, including:

## 3\. Quotes, Pricing and Payment

Prices on this website are published in Canadian dollars (CAD), before HST and before any City of Toronto subsidy. They are price bands, not fixed quotes. Your final price is confirmed in writing after the free in-home assessment and before any work begins. Payment terms are set out in your written quote. A paid, itemized invoice is issued on completion.

## 4\. City of Toronto Subsidy

We prepare and submit Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy applications for eligible installs at no extra fee. Subsidy amounts, eligibility and payment timing are set by the City of Toronto, not by us. The subsidy is paid directly to the homeowner. We do not guarantee approval or a particular amount, but if an application is rejected because of our install documentation, we will correct it at no cost.

## 5\. Permits and Inspections

We apply for the City of Toronto drain permit and book the City plumbing inspection for every install that requires them. You agree to give us reasonable access to your property for the assessment, the work and the inspection.

## 6\. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an assessment or install. Where a permit has already been applied for or materials ordered for your job, those costs may be charged if you cancel.

## 7\. Warranty

Every install carries a written 2-year workmanship warranty covering the work we performed. Valve bodies and other products are covered by their manufacturers' warranties. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, blockages caused by items flushed or poured down drains, alterations by others, or failure to allow reasonable maintenance.

## 8\. Limitation of Liability

A backwater valve reduces the risk of sewer backup but cannot remove every flood risk, such as groundwater entry, overland flooding or power outages affecting sump pumps. To the extent permitted by law, Backwater Valve Installation Toronto is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the service involved.

## 9\. Insurance Coordination

When you ask us to work with your insurer or adjuster, we provide documentation and information about our work. Coverage decisions, premiums and renewals are made by your insurer, and we make no promise about them.

## 10\. Website Content

The content on this website is for general information and is not a substitute for an on-site assessment by a licensed plumber. All text, graphics and images are the property of Backwater Valve Installation Toronto and may not be copied without permission.

## 11\. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
